We provided designs for a new box outlet at the San Diego Dam to improve its water retention and control capabilities. Originally constructed to handle a minimal amount of water, the existing dam faced challenges due to increased flooding in downstream areas, prompting the need for a redesign. We designed an outlet measuring 10 ft. x 10 ft. x 30 ft. The structure includes a watertight door at the base for maintenance and strategically placed knockout areas in the walls to allow for future water release. Built with reinforced concrete, the outlet features a mat foundation for enhanced stability.
