Project Overview
We’re proud to have provided the structural design for the award-winning Mexican American Cultural Center (The MACC), a vibrant facility dedicated to celebrating and preserving Mexican American art, culture, and community. In collaboration with Exigo Architecture, this project was honored with the Texas Society of Architects’ 2025 Design Award and required innovative engineering to bring a complex architectural vision to life.
The MACC is designed to be a hub of creativity, featuring a diverse range of specialized spaces.
Our team engineered solutions for:
- An auditorium and black box theatre
- A dance and acting studio
- Main and community art galleries
- Teaching and commercial kitchens
- Art classrooms and media arts maker spaces
- A professional recording studio
- An artist-in-residence studio
- A scenic rooftop terrace
Innovative Solutions for a Visionary Space
Our primary goal was to deliver structural solutions that balanced functionality, flexibility, and aesthetics. We focused on creating an environment where art and performance can thrive without limitations.
Key structural highlights include:
- Expansive, column-free galleries that provide maximum open space for art exhibitions and events.
- Vibration-controlled studios for dance and acting, ensuring stability and performance integrity.
- Acoustically isolated spaces for the recording studio and performance areas, creating a pristine sound environment.
- A stunning rooftop terrace engineered to safely support large community gatherings while offering breathtaking views.
We are honored to have played a role in creating a space that will serve the community for generations to come.
