ABOUT YOU

As a Junior Engineer in Training, you will embark on an exciting journey of professional growth, contributing to a variety of engineering tasks under the guidance of experienced mentors. You’ll gain hands-on experience in routine engineering activities while honing your technical skills. Occasionally, you may have the opportunity to communicate designs and collaborate directly with our clients, building your confidence and expertise in client relations. This role is designed to lay the foundation for your engineering career, providing you with the tools and support to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Perform basic structural calculations using established engineering principles and techniques.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of construction documents for straightforward projects.
  • Support field investigations and site visits under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Conduct standard computations and analyses to aid in project development.
  • Communicate design concepts and coordinate with drafters and internal team members.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to support project success.

Requirements

EDUCATION & LICENSURE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Passed or actively preparing to take the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI), or ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Foundational understanding of structural and civil engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and basic engineering practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with solid organizational abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY

As a modern engineering firm, we utilize a variety of software tools to enhance productivity and service delivery. For this role, familiarity with the following software is beneficial, and training will be provided:

  • RISA
  • Enercalc
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Office Suite
