 Project

The Godley High School Competition Arena project provided construction engineering support for a new athletic facility featuring long-span steel roof trusses. Stubbs Engineering developed detailed lifting and bracing plans, connection designs, and erection sequencing to ensure safe, efficient assembly. The main challenges included coordinating large truss lifts exceeding 160 feet and maintaining stability during construction while meeting the district’s aggressive schedule.

Project Overview

We're proud to have contributed our structural engineering expertise to the Godley High School Competition Arena, a standout feature of the high school’s expansion. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to accommodate the district’s growth while enriching the experience for both students and the community.

Our Construction Engineering Division’s Contributions:
  • Connection & Stair Design: In collaboration with Basden Steel Corporation, we developed connection and miscellaneous steel designs tailored to meet project demands while aligning with fabrication and erection preferences.
  • Erection Engineering: Partnering with TGR Erectors, we provided detailed lifting and rigging plans for the 160+ foot-long span roof trusses. Additionally, we created an erection sequence and bracing plan to ensure the safe and efficient installation of the arena’s trusses.

As the final beams were set, the arena stood as a testament to teamwork, safety, and technical precision, an example of what’s possible when collaboration meets craftsmanship.
