Stubbs Engineering provided structural design services for a new fire station in Forney, TX. Due to the growing urban population in the Dallas area, there was a need for the 10,500 square foot, single-story fire station. The station was framed with load-bearing pre-cast concrete exterior walls, bar joists, and beams for the roof and interior columns. In addition, the foundation was drilled piers with grade beams. This project was a design-build project, and Stubbs was able to work alongside the contractor to meet their needs and the challenging conditions of the site, including expansive clays.
