About You

As the Senior Team Lead Structural Engineer, you will lead and manage a team of 7-10 people including engineers and drafting technicians to successfully deliver complex structural engineering projects that exceed client expectations. Responsibilities include mentoring employees, managing projects, maintaining client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Will also be responsible for upholding company core values and ensure financial success.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the design and execution of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and code regulations.
  • Manage project life cycle from planning to final delivery.
  • Lead a collaborative team, resolving conflict and driving high performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them develop their skillsets and advance in their careers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of their team, ensuring the alignment of the teams’ goals with the companies’ objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities, meet with potential clients to market our services, and negotiate contracts.
  • Develop budgets, manage costs, and ensure projects are delivered on budget.
  • Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes ensuring all work meets the highest standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and use of best practices within the organization.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Passed the 16- hour NCEES Structural Exam
  • A driver’s license and clean driving record.

Skills & Experience

  • Deep expertise in the structural engineering field, understanding of advanced technology and code and the ability leverage that in projects.
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects, including risk management and resource allocation.
  • Strong quality assurance implementation skills for consistent high standards on projects.
  • Experience in leading teams, fostering collaboration, and driving high performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills for effective communication between team members or clients.
  • Conflict resolution expertise for team and client relations.
  • Mentoring skills for professional growth of junior team members.
  • Advanced negotiation skills for complex contracts.
  • Effective leadership through pressure and setbacks.
  • Change management abilities in shifting project scope or expectations.
  • Strong decision-making skills for resource allocation and personnel management.
  • Efficient task delegation across multiple team members ensuring effectiveness.
  • High emotional intelligence to understand and address the diverse needs and concerns of their team and varied clients.
