Rio Grande Substation Investigation

Sunland Park, NM

This project consisted of evaluating three existing lattice structures for new loads due to rearranging transmission lines.  These revised lines were due to the construction of a new generator.  Our services included providing the as-built survey, analysis of the structure with a 3D model, and providing construction documents with the required modifications to the structure. Based on our recommendations we were able to arrange the conductors in a way that allowed our client to maintain this structure as opposed to replacing it.

Client: El Paso Electric

Austin Substation

El Paso, TX

We analyzed this structure for additional loads due to increases in the size and number of electrical transmission lines.  We performed the as-built survey and modeled the structure.  Our services also included the construction documents for the modifications needed to the structure.

Sunset North Substation

El Paso, TX

The substation structures were strengthened to account for increased loads from larger transmission lines.  We performed the as-built survey of the structure and the 3D modeling.  We designed a system of guy wires to reinforce this structure.

Newman Substation

El Paso, TX

This structure is subjected for additional loads from new transmission lines.  We performed the as-built survey of the structure  and the 3D modeling.  We designed retrofits for the portions of the structures that were overstressed.  We were able to save the existing structures and save our client the expense of replacing these structures
